
El Cajon, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Cuyamaca Invitational on Saturday, March 1, claiming first place in seven events, second place in nine, and third place in ten.
The Mounties dominated the competition with several impressive first-place finishes. Huy Ho won the 100m in 11.15 seconds, while Noah Chairez secured victory in the 800m with a time of 1:57.75. Ruben Delgado excelled in the 110m hurdles, clocking in at 14.86 seconds, and Zachary Felix took the top spot in the 400m hurdles at 58.11 seconds. In the field events, Nathaniel Zwisler cleared 14' 11" in the pole vault, Elijah Schultz-Minton leaped 23' 0.5" in the long jump, and Vince Casey claimed first in the triple jump with a mark of 45' 9".
Strong performances continued with second-place finishes across multiple events. Sprinter Mentoa Mckenzie placed second in both the 200m (22.02 seconds) and 400m (50.53 seconds). Joshua Cervantes finished the 110m hurdles in 15.49 seconds, while Aidan Villasenor secured second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.99 seconds. Jonah Wilson cleared 6' 2" in the high jump, and Brandyn Wetherspoon achieved 22' 3" in the long jump. Schultz-Minton added another podium finish with a second-place triple jump of 44' 4.25". In the throwing events, Duke Hemsley placed second in shot put (41' 7"), and Taiyo Ishiguro earned second in javelin with a throw of 188' 7".
The Mounties also earned third-place finishes in various events. Delgado finished third in the 100m at 11.24 seconds, and Austin Hernandez clocked 50.57 seconds in the 400m. Isaac Torres ran the 800m in 1:58.74, Jude Enriquez completed the 1500m in 4:08.49, and Jordan Berkley finished the 3000m in 8:51.76. Spencer Shuler took third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.55. The Mt. SAC A squad, composed of Reimius Aceret, Naasir Ainsworth, Omar Anany, and Oluwatoni Babatunde, placed third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:30.68. In the field events, Matthew Stauffer cleared 5' 10" in the high jump, Casey jumped 21' 10" in the long jump, and Hemsley threw 134' 6" in the hammer event.
