Mt. SAC Men’s Track & Field team dominates SCC Prelims

(Torrance, CA) After the first day of the South Coast Conference Track & Field Championships at El Camino College, Mt. SAC holds a big lead over its nearest competitor. With 123 points, the Mounties lead second-place Cerritos (25) and Long Beach City College (20).

The SCC Championships continue on Saturday, April 27, with the finals at El Camino College. The Mounties won 11 of the 13 events. First-place finishes in the five field events were Elijha Ellis (Long Jump), Jerry Roberts (Triple Jump), Jesus Isiordia (Hammer), Domonic Tubbs (Javelin), and Jadan Williams (Decathlon).

In the eight running events, the Mounties came home with six wins. The first-place finishes were Drew Hill (100 Meters), Jaylend Howard (200), Ryan Rivituso (400), Jordan Berkley (1500), Ian Crocker (10,000), and Devin Paton (400 Hurdles). In the 800 Meters, the Mounties placed second (Noah Gordon) through sixth and a fourth-place finish in the 110 Hurdles by Christian Baker.
