Mountie Men's Track and Field takes first in six events at Redlands Invitational

(Redlands, CA) In a field of competitors from 21 schools, which included universities, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field team earned five first-place, two second-place, and two third-place finishes.

First-place finishes included Kerry Smith in the 100 meters (47.16 seconds), Christian Baker in the 110-meter hurdles (14.51 seconds), Namir Hemphil in the triple jump (15.23 meters), Jered Beasley in the pole vault (4.75 meters), and the 4x100 relay team of Jake Jensen, Smith, Jacob Williams, and Hemphil (40.67 seconds).

Justin Beltran cleared a height of 4.60 meters to place second in the pole vault and Brad Riehl finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.37 seconds.

Third-place finishes for Mt. SAC came from Hemphil in the 100 meters (10.74 seconds) and Terrence Sweetman in the triple jump (13.48 meters).

Mt. SAC will take a couple of weeks off to prepare for the Arnie Robinson Invitational at San Diego Mesa College on Friday, March 31.
