Mountie Men's Track and Field shines at Cuyamaca Invitational

(El Cajon, CA) At the 2023 Cuyamaca Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11, members of the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field Team finished first in nine events, second in seven and third in nine more.

First-place finishes for the Mounties included Kerry Smith Jr (100 meters, 200 meters), Thomas Scrofano (400 meters), Elijah Ocegueda (1500 meters), Ethan Amata (pole vault), Tylor Connelly (shot put, hammer), Cory Gamero (discus), and Matthew Mannino (javelin).

Michael Stine III (javelin), Jared Beasley (pole vault), Brad Riehl/Christian Baker/Adam Chavez/Joshua Cervantes (4x400 relay), Jalen Griego (3000 meters), Andres Chavez (1500 meters), Seth Kakudji (400 meters), and Nicholas Vargas (100 meters) turned in second-place performances for Mt. SAC.

Mounties who came in third in their events were Vargas (200 meters), Adam Chavez (400 meters), Julian Elliott (1500 meters), Ocegueda (3000 meters), Jesus Arias (pole vault), Jerry Roberts (long jump), Darrian Robinson (triple jump), Stine III (discus), and Mannino (hammer).
