(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Team had a very strong showing at today's Mt. SAC/Cal Poly Pomona Preview Meet, but it was Freshman Pole Vaulter, Tissiana Ruiz who stole the show for the Mounties with her 11'10" 1/2 (3.62M) jump that set a new Mt. SAC Record. The previous record was 11'09" and was set in 2008 by Megan Hill.
In the six team competition against Cal Poly, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State L.A., Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Bakersfield, the Mounties captured the victory, outscoring the competition in both the men's and women's competitions and producing many individual event winners including:
