Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team closed out their final South Coast Conference dual meet of the season in dominant fashion, defeating conference rival Long Beach City College, 242–52, on Friday, March 27.
Mt. SAC's depth and versatility were on full display, highlighted by standout performances from Lincoln Jones, who delivered a stellar day with three individual victories. Jones touched first in the 200 free (1:43.59), 200 fly (1:51.98), and 200 breast (2:05.41), while also contributing to the winning 200 medley relay team.
Distance standout Cooper Golling led the way in the distance events, capturing first in the 1000 free (9:35.35) and 500 free (4:37.16), and later swimming a leg on the victorious 400 free relay.
Leon Mikulski added strong distance and IM performances, placing second in the 1000 free (10:18.72), second in the 200 back (1:59.56), and second in the 200 IM (2:01.71), while also contributing to the 400 free relay win.
Sprint and mid-distance events saw impressive contributions from Kai Anolin, who won the 100 free (48.54) and added a runner-up finishes in the 100 IM (55.09) and third in the 50 free (22.18), in addition to participating in the winning 400 free relay.
Luke Marsden also had a strong showing, winning the 100 IM (54.38), placing second in the 50 free (21.70) and 500 free (4:56.15), and swimming on the winning 200 medley relay.
Aidan Staton dominated the sprint events, taking first in both the 50 free (21.42) and 100 fly (51.76), while also swimming key legs on both winning relay teams.
Ethan Lopez contributed with a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:46.25) and 100 fly (52.37), and was part of the first-place 200 medley relay.
In the backstroke events, Michael Lu swept both races, winning the 100 back (55.28) and 200 back (1:59.02). Teammate Ryder Upshaw added a pair of strong finishes with second in the 100 back (56.87) and third in the 100 free (49.40), while Dillon Allison placed third in both backstroke events.
Breaststroke and IM events were led by Connor Keith, who won the 100 breast (1:00.54) and added a third-place finish in the 200 breast (2:12.41) and 200 IM (2:03.47). Max Wang showed versatility by placing third in the 100 breast (1:02.87), second in the 200 breast (2:09.83), and winning the 200 IM (1:59.89).
Additional top-three finishes came from Mario Rodriguez Carr, who placed third in the 200 free (1:50.90) and second in the 100 free (49.30); Brian Aeschliman and Jaden Yu, who finished second and third respectively in the 200 fly; and Ethan Decker and Ethan Darmon, who added depth in the distance freestyle events.
Mt. SAC also took the top spot in both relays, with Jones, Marsden, Lopez, and Staton winning the 200 medley relay (1:34.94), and Staton, Mikulski, Anolin, and Golling closing the meet with a victory in the 400 free relay (3:17.83).
