Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – That marks another win for the Mt. SAC Men's Swim Team as they defeated Chaffey College 231-41 in a conference meet on Friday, March 20. From sprints to distance events, the Mounties controlled the meet from start to finish.
Luke Marsden led the charge, picking up three individual wins in the 100 Free (48.69), 100 Breast (59.01), and 100 IM (52.95).
Cooper Golling added multiple victories of his own, taking first in the 200 Free (1:49.19), 200 IM (2:01.24), and 200 Fly (2:02.19).
Speed was on full display in the sprint events, as Aidan Staton touched first in the 50 Free (21.90) and followed it up with a second-place finish in the 100 Fly (52.67).
Michael Lu dominated the backstroke races, sweeping both the 100 Back (56.78) and 200 Back (2:04.45) to add more points to the Mounties' total.
In the distance events, Ethan Decker showed grit and determination with a first-place finish in the 500 Free (5:00.11) and a runner-up finish in the 1000 Free (10:27.61), helping anchor Mt. SAC's depth across all race lengths.
The relays put an exclamation point on the meet. The Mt. SAC "A" team captured first in the 200 Medley Relay (1:38.15) behind Michael Lu, Luke Marsden, Ethan Lopez, and Aidan Staton. The 400 Free Relay squad of Staton, Leon Mikulski, Mario Rodriguez-Carreon, and Cooper Golling followed with another first-place finish in 3:23.05.
