Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team delivered a dominant performance in the pool on Friday, March 13, defeating Cerritos 248–45 and Rio Hondo 251–35 in conference action.
The Mounties made their mark right from the start, taking first and second in the 200 medley relay behind the team of Lincoln Jones, Luke Marsden, Aidan Staton, and Kai Anolin, who touched first in 1:37.46.
From there, Mt. SAC controlled the meet with multiple podium sweeps. The Mounties went one-two-three in multiple events, including the 100 IM, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 50 freestyle, showcasing their depth across all strokes. Kai Anolin led the way in the 100 IM with a time of 55.96, while Luke Marsden and Connor Keith highlighted a strong showing in the 100 breaststroke at 58.19 and 1:01.02, respectively.
Distance events were just as strong for the Mounties, with Leon Mikulski (4:57.96) and Ethan Darmon (4:59.08) leading the charge in the 500 freestyle, and Cooper Golling turning in a standout swim in the 200 butterfly at 1:55.77.
Mt. SAC continued to stack top finishes in the back half of the meet. Lincoln Jones added another win in the 200 IM in 1:55.05, while Michael Lu led a one-two-three finish in the 200 backstroke, finishing in 2:03.28. The sprint group also delivered, with Aidan Staton taking first in the 100 butterfly (52.69) after already placing in the 50 freestyle (21.92).
On the boards, Jenner Bautista and Michael Evangelista contributed valuable points in diving to keep the momentum firmly in Mt. SAC's favor.
The Mounties closed out the meet the same way they started it—on top—with the relay team of Staton, Jones, Jacob Carlson, and Anolin securing a first-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay at 3:18.22.
