Mounties Make a Splash, Win SCC Pentathlon at Home

Walnut, Calif. – In their first look at conference competition, the Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team came out on top with 361.7 points in the South Coast Conference Pentathlon on February 6, at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center. Long Beach followed in second with 306.7 points and El Camino rounded out the top three with 305 points.

Mt. SAC established dominance early with a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Cooper Golling, Aidan Staton, Ethan Lopez, Kai Anolin, and Connor Keith touched the wall first with a time of 1:40.88.

Individually, Golling led the way with a win in the 200 IM, clocking a 1:59.52, while Leon Mikulski added a third-place finish in the same event at 2:02.52. Staton continued his strong meet with a runner-up finish in the 100 IM (55.92) and placed third in the 100 Fly (53.85).

Golling also picked up a second-place finish in the 100 Back (56.80), while Keith earned third in the 100 Breast (1:01.84). Anolin rounded out the scoring highlights with a second-place showing in the 100 Free, posting a time of 49.42.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties will have a few weeks to fine-tune their strokes before returning to action against Sierra College on Thursday, February 26.
