Livermore, Calif. – It was a successful first meet for the Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team, opening the 2026 season with huge victories over two strong Northern California programs on Friday, January 30. The Mounties dominated Las Positas College 182–39 and American River College 157–64, setting the tone for what promises to be a successful season.
Mt. SAC showcased its depth and talent across the meet, capturing first place in 11 of the 12 events. Several races featured multiple Mounties on the podium, highlighting the team's balanced performance from start to finish.
The day began with a strong showing in the relays, as the Mounties claimed first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:28.84, featuring Lincoln Jones, Cooper Golling, Leon Mikulski, Aidan Staton, and Connor Keith. They followed that effort with another relay win in the 200-yard medley relay, touching first in 1:40.26.
Individually, Mt. SAC swimmers continued to shine throughout the meet. Lincoln Jones captured victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.32), 100-yard backstroke (53.60), and 100-yard individual medley (53.30), while also contributing to multiple relay wins. Aidan Staton added a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.97 and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly.
Cooper Golling earned a win in the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.25) and dominated the distance events, taking first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:45.29.The Mounties were especially impressive in the 500-yard freestyle, where they swept the top seven finishing positions, further emphasizing their depth.
Leon Mikulski secured first place in the 100-yard freestyle (48.84) and added a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, while Connor Keith won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.82. The meet concluded with another relay victory, as the Mt. SAC A team won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:14.64.

Now that they've seen what the top teams from the north have to offer, the Mounties will have an opportunity to check out what the South Coast Conference is working with at the SCC Pentathlon on Friday, February 6.
