
Santa Rosa, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team wrapped up an impressive season with a third-place finish at the 76th Annual 3C2A State Championships, held May 1–3 at Santa Rosa Junior College. This marks the third consecutive year the Mounties have finished in the top three at the state meet. Sierra College claimed the championship title with a team score of 443, followed closely by American River College with 434. Mt. SAC secured third with a strong showing and a total of score of 417.
Standout performances were led by Jack Painton, who captured first place in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 15:53.60 and also finished sixth in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:36.27. Ray Chun contributed significantly with a fourth-place finish in both the 100 Breaststroke (55.98) and the 100 Freestyle (45.53), and set a new Mt. SAC record in the 50 Freestyle, placing sixth with a time of 20.76.
Gavin Roberts added to the team's overall success with a third-place finish in the 400 Individual Medley (4:06.04) and a fourth-place finish in the 200 Individual Medley (1:53.20). Michael Di Bello placed fifth in the 100 Backstroke, clocking in at 51.19, while Luke Marsden placed fifth in both the 100 Breaststroke (56.80) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:04.50).
The 200 Freestyle Relay Team—consisting of Chun, Roberts, Di Bello, Marsden, and Painton—secured sixth place with a time of 1:23.84, setting another new Mt. SAC program record.
With the 2024–2025 season officially concluded, the Mounties celebrate another year of strong performances and look forward to returning to the pool next season. See you in 2026!
