
Riverside, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Swim and Dive Team claimed victory at the 2025 Riverside Last Chance Invite, hosted by Riverside City College on Friday, April 4, outpacing seven other competing schools. The Mounties topped the field with an impressive score of 1047.5, leaving Riverside City College in second place with a score of 635.5, while Long Beach City College finished third with 351.
Jack Painton had an outstanding performance, securing three first-place finishes and a runner-up finish. His victories included the 200 Free (1:45.33), 500 Free (4:41.83), and 1650 Free (16:14.16). Painton also earned a second-place finish in the 100 Back (55.04), leading his team to a dominant performance.
Michael Lu was another key contributor, earning first-place finishes in both the 100 Back (53.65) and the 200 Back (1:59.14). He also placed third in the 400 IM (4:27.11), adding valuable points for the Mounties.
Ray Chun added to the team's success with victories in the 50 Free (20.97) and the 100 Breast (56.87). Gavin Roberts delivered strong performances, earning first in the 200 IM (1:58.11) and second in both the 100 Free (48.01) and 400 IM (4:17.57).
Luke Marsden also contributed to the team's success, taking first place in the 200 Breast (2:08.10) and second in the 100 Breast (57.56). Luke Pedroche claimed a first-place finish in the 200 Fly (2:03.87) and second in the 500 Free (5:03.13).
Michael Di Bello played a pivotal role as well, securing first in the 400 IM (4:16.12) and third in the 100 Fly (52.93). AJ Ceja added two third-place finishes in the 1650 (17:27.08) and 200 Free (1:53.14).
The relay teams also delivered exceptional performances, with Painton, Lu, Chun, Ethan Lopez, and Roberts finishing first in both the 200 Medley Relay (1:33.24) and the 800 Free Relay (7:05.66).

The Mounties will next compete in the South Coast Conference Diving Championships on Friday, April 11, at Long Beach City College. Then they will participate in the SCC Swimming Championships from April 17-19 at East Los Angeles College. Keep it up, Mounties!
