(Walnut, CA) For the fourth competitive season in a row and 11th in the last 14, the Mt. SAC Men's Swimming team has captured the South Coast Conference Dual title with a convincing, 190-89, victory over visiting Long Beach City College on Friday, March 29.
Included in that conference dual championship, the Mounties have now won 30 consecutive dual meets dating back to March 16, 2018, when they lost to Pasadena City College.
This was also the 16th straight year the Mounties have remained undefeated at home in dual meets. The last loss at home was to LBCC in 2008 in a close meet.
In the win over the Vikings on Friday, the Mounties won 12 of the 14 events.
Leading the way for the Mounties were Markus Stegbuchner (100, 200 Breaststroke), Eric Yeh (100 Backstroke, 100 Butterfly) and Ray Chun (50, 100 Freestyle) with two individual wins each.
Other individual winners were Samuel Slezak (1000 Free), Luke Pedroche (200 Free), Jason Matsuda (200 Fly) and Gavin Roberts (200 IM). Mt. SAC had 1-2-3 finishes in the 200 Fly and the 200 IM.
Mt. SAC won the 200 Medley Relay with Pedroche, Stegbuchner, Yeh and Chun.
Next up for the Mounties is the Riverside City College Invite on Friday, April 5.
