Mt. SAC Men’s Swimming defeats Sierra, 113-89; Eric Yeh wins three events

(Walnut, CA) In a big three-day stretch for the Mt. SAC Men's Swimming team, the Mounties defeated Northern California power Sierra College, 113-89, in a nonconference dual meet on Thursday, February 29. The Mounties faced Sierra on Thursday, participated in a double dual South Coast Conference meet on Friday, and also hosted the 38th Annual Mt. SAC Swimming and Diving Invitational with 19 teams entered.

In the Sierra meet, the Mounties won five of nine individual events, with sophomore Eric Yeh leading the way with three first-place finishes. Yeh took first place in the 100m Backstroke, 100m Butterfly, and 300m Individual Medley, and was also a member of the 400m Medley Relay team of Markus Stegbuchner, Jason Matsuda, and Ray Chun. Chun and Matsuda had the other two first-place finishes in the 50m Freestyle and the 100m Individual Medley, respectively.

The Mounties travel up North to San Luis Obispo on Friday and Saturday (March 8 and 9) for their annual trip to the Cuesta College Invitational.
