Mt. SAC Men’s Swimming & Diving finishes second in WSC finals; Neoh, 400 MR team take firsts

(San Luis Obispo, CA) After a brief three-meet season, the Mt. SAC Men's Swimming & Diving team took second place in the season-ending Western States Conference Final at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo Saturday (May 22).

The five-team meet concluded with host Cuesta (882.5) taking home first place, followed by the Mounties (785), Bakersfield (634), Ventura (396.5) and Santa Monica (333).

As a team, in the two double dual meets of the season, the Mounties were undefeated with a 4-0 record.

Mt. SAC came home with an individual and team first place in two events.

Freshman Matthew Neoh, who finished the season with six individual firsts, bettered the second-place finisher by a second with a time of 54.60 in the 100-yard Backstroke.

Sophomore Michael Yeh, who won seven individual races in the two previous double dual meets, finished with a nice afternoon with a second in the 50 Back (25.85), just .11 behind the winner, and two thirds in the 200 IM (2:06.54) and the 100 Back (56.73).

Also winning an event was the 400 Medley Relay team, consisting of Neoh, Dominic Chacon, Logan Morales and Connor Rias. The team finished with a time of 3:40.51.

The Mounties' 200 Medley Relay team (Neoh, Chacon, Morales and Rias) also placed second with a time of 1:40.86.
