(Walnut, CA) Mt. SAC Freshman Nathan Chow led the way among 73 swimmers in the annual South Coast Conference, five-event Pentathlon, Friday (Feb. 14).

The annual non-scoring pre-season meet was hosted by Mt. SAC at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Center, with all seven teams from conference competing.

Seventy three swimmers, from the seven SCC schools, competed in the Pentathlon. Each swimmer took part in all five events.

Chow was the top performer of the day, winning three of the five individual events and was part of the winning relay team. His other finishes were a second and a third.

The Mounties top 200 Medley Relay team, consisting of Michael Yeh, Chow, Jonathan Olvera and Cole Kopperud, along with the "C" team (Richard Teng, Marcus Lira, Brandon Barcelo and Parker Egan), finished one-two in the second event of the day.

Chow won the 200 Individual Medley (1:57.95), 100 Backstroke (54.56) and the 100 Freestyle (48.47). He also placed second in the 100 Breaststroke (1:03.08) and fourth in the 100 Butterfly (55.33).

Olvera's best finish was a second in the 100 Fly (54.94) and he took a fourth and seventh in the 100 Back (58.69) and 100 Breast (1:06.83), respectively, along with a fourth place in the 200 IM (2:05.27).

Next up for the Mountie swimmers will be the 35th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational in the three-day event (Feb. 20-22).
