Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team is heading to the South Coast Conference Championship after a dominant 4-1 victory over El Camino on Monday, November 10 Following this game, the Mounties' overall record sits at 11-2-5 while the Warriors fall to 12-5-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Mounties struck first in the 21st minute when Fabian Barajas sent a perfect cross to Alexis Gomez, who buried a header into the back of the net. But El Camino answered right back two minutes later to even the score at 1-1, sending both teams into halftime deadlocked.

In the second half, the Mounties turned up the pressure — and the goals started rolling in. Caleb Perez went on a tear, scoring back-to-back goals thanks to assists from Julian Vazquez and Steven Torres. Then, in stoppage time, Jager Gonzalez sealed the deal with a goal off a slick pass from Joseph Prado, topping off a commanding performance.

Mt. SAC fired off 8 shots on goal, converting four of them, while keeper Cody Lindeman came up clutch with four key saves to shut down the Warriors' attack.

The Mounties face off against Los Angeles City (11-4-6) in the South Coast Conference Tournament Championship on Thursday, November 13 at 4:00 PM at Rio Hondo College. Let's go, Mounties — time to bring that trophy home!
