Walnut, Calif. – In a total blowout, the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team obliterated Compton 12-0 on Tuesday, November 4, clinching the 2025 South Coast Conference North Division title for the ninth consecutive time and the 19th in the program's SCC history. With the win, the Mounties' record improved to 10-2-5 overall, while they remained undefeated in South Coast Conference play at 7-0-2. Meanwhile, Compton struggled through a rough season, finishing 3-13-1 overall and 0-8-1 in SCC competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Not only was this the Mounties' highest-scoring game of the season, but it was also their fastest start. Fabian Barajas put Mt. SAC on the board in the very first minute of play off a pass from Alexis Gomez. Just two minutes later, Gomez scored one of his own, assisted by Rafael Avalos, before adding a second goal in the 34th minute to give Mt. SAC a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The onslaught continued after the break. Julian Vazquez opened the second-half scoring in the 48th minute off a setup from Hunter Lemos. Brody Quinzon and Alfonso Ramirez added goals in the 52nd and 53rd minutes, respectively, followed by Vazquez's second strike in the 63rd. Christopher Chavez joined the scoring spree just four minutes later.

Then it was Caleb Perez's turn to shine, banking goals in the 76th and 81st minutes thanks to assists from Quinzon and Tobi Odufalu. Jager Gonzalez notched his first goal of the season in the 83rd minute, and Quinzon sealed the dominant win with his second goal of the match in the 86th—again assisted by Odufalu.

The Mounties dominated on both ends of the field, firing off an incredible 18 shots on goal with the Compton goalkeeper tallying six saves. Meanwhile, the Coyotes only managed two shots on goal with Mt. SAC goalkeeper Edson Mendez recording two saves to preserve the shutout.

NEXT UP:
