In an impressive display of teamwork and skill, the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team secured a 3-0 victory over Rio Hondo College on October 18 in a South Coast Conference competition.
The Mounties set the pace with a goal from Allan Rosales in the 16th minute, assisted by Joseph Prado. The second half saw Mt. SAC continue to dominate, as Moises Prado found the back of the net in the 51st minute, thanks to an assist from Felipe Cobian. Just eight minutes later, Jon Jay Joseph extended the lead to three goals, capitalizing on an assist from Kenneth Flores. Goalkeeper Alex Ledesma recorded two saves, keeping the Roadrunners from scoring.
With this victory, Mt. SAC's record stands at 10-1-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while Rio Hondo falls to 1-12-1 overall and 0-4 in conference. Notably, of the 10 wins the Mounties have accumulated this year, eight of them have been shutouts, proving the strength of their defensive skills.
Looking ahead, the No. 1 ranked Mounties will compete against East Los Angeles College on Tuesday, October 22, at 5:00 PM. East Los Angeles currently holds an overall record of 4-8-3 and a conference record of 1-2-1.
