Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Captures South Coast Conference Championship

(Cerritos, CA)  The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer team captured their 5th consecutive South Coast Conference Championship, with their, 2-0 shutout win over conference rival and #2 ranked (#1 SoCal), Cerritos College.  Midfielders, Armando Ochoa and Xavier Corona each had a goal apiece, with Goalkeeper Tony Maldonado credited with the shutout and 6 saves.

The championship also represents the 9th SCC Championship for Mt. SAC Head Coach, Juan Sanchez, the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America, National Community College Coach of the Year.  

The Mounties are currently ranked #11 in the state (#5 SoCal) with a 14-3-4 record and are looking to not only defend their CCCAA State Championship, but to also continue their unprecedented 5th consecutive state championship.

The Mounties will await play-off matchups, which will be announced this Tuesday.
