WALNUT – Mt. San Antonio College defeated the City College of San Francisco, claiming it fourth consecutive California Community College Athletic Association Men's Soccer State Championship. This is the first time in the 39 years of the CCCAA Men's Soccer State Championships that a team has won four-straight championships.

The Mounties (21-3-1) used a pair of second half goals to create history in front of their home fans. The first goal came just three minutes into the second half when Armando Ochoa was fouled in the box and awarded a penalty kick. The Rams goalkeeper dove to his left while Ochoa buried the kick in the back of the net on the right side.

It was another 30 minutes before Mt. SAC got the insurance goal. Jesus Navarro sent a cross into the box from the right side that found Anthony Mangold-Caudle who took one touch before scoring the Mounties second goal.

The two teams played to a scoreless first half with Mt. SAC having the slight edge on shots on goal at 3-2. However, each team had plenty of scoring opportunities with the only exception being that San Francisco's attempts were repeatedly blocked by the Mounties defense.

Following the game, Mt. SAC's Norberto Ochoa was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Mt. SAC beat the previous record of three-consecutive state championships, previously held by Santa Ana College (1998-2000). The win also puts the Mounties in a tie for third place with El Camino College with four state championships. Santa Ana holds the record with seven followed by Foothill with five.
