Costa Mesa, Calif. – In a decisive performance on the road, Mt. SAC (8-0, 5-0) stormed past Orange Coast (1-7, 1-4) with a score of 62-3 at LeBard Stadium on Saturday, November 2, extending their undefeated record with another impressive win. The Mounties dominated both sides of the ball, overpowering the Pirates with a mighty offense and a suffocating defense.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Mounties wasted no time, taking control early with a series of explosive plays. The game's opening touchdown came just 14 seconds into the first quarter when Mt. SAC's Adrion Boyd returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown, giving the team a quick 7-0 lead. Devin Miles added to the early momentum with a 21-yard touchdown run at the 10-minute mark, capping off a quick 70-yard drive.

By the end of the first quarter, Mt. SAC was firmly in control, leading 28-0 after scoring two more touchdowns. De'shon Thompson hauled in a 75-yard pass from quarterback Jack Benson, and Miles added his second rushing touchdown of the quarter, an 18-yard run, to make it 28-0.

The onslaught continued into the second quarter. Jayson Cortes punched in a 16-yard touchdown run early, and the Mounties capped off another efficient drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Noah Fuailetolo to Juwan Grant. At the half, Mt. SAC led 42-0.

The second half saw the Mounties maintain their momentum, despite making several substitutions. Cortes added another touchdown in the third quarter, a 1-yard plunge to push the lead to 48-0.

Orange Coast finally got on the board early in the fourth quarter with a 26-yard field goal from Calvin Kirchoff, cutting the deficit to 48-3. However, Mt. SAC responded with two more touchdowns to seal the win. Marco Gonzalez connected with Alonzo Brown for a 2-yard touchdown pass, and Michael Hulverson added a 9-yard touchdown to finish the game with a 62-3 final score.

188 – Net passing yards for Mt. SAC, led by Jack Benson's 113 yards on 4-of-4 passing.

50% - Third-down efficiency for Mt. SAC (4-of-8), compared to just 8% for Orange Coast (1-of-13).

129 – Total return yards for Mt. SAC, including an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Adrion Boyd.

1 – Touchdown reception for Alonzo Brown, catching a 2-yard pass from Marco Gonzalez in the fourth quarter.
