In a commanding display, Mt. SAC extended their undefeated streak with a decisive 51-7 victory over East Los Angeles on Thursday, October 24. The Mounties improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while East Los Angeles fell to 1-6, still seeking their first conference win.

The game started explosively for the Mounties, who scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. Devin Miles opened the scoring with a 1-yard run, followed by a 5-yard pass from Noah Fuailetolo to Miles, and capped by a 45-yard touchdown pass from Fuailetolo to Nicolas Ceballos for his first touchdown of the season. By the end of the first quarter, Mt. SAC led 21-0.

East Los Angeles responded in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own – a 51-yard pass from Daunte Bell to Chris Hicks. However, Mt. SAC quickly answered with a 12-yard run from Miles and a 54-yard touchdown pass from Jack Benson to Juwan Grant, extending their lead to 35-7 at halftime.

In the second half, Mt. SAC continued to dominate, adding two more touchdowns including a 32-yard run from Marco Gonzalez and a 15-yard run by Jayson Cortes. The Mounties capped off their scoring with a 42-yard field goal from Jacob Bonilla, sealing the game at 51-7.

Standout performances included Devin Miles, who contributed 64 rushing yards, scoring two rushing touchdowns and adding one receiving touchdown. Noah Fuailetolo had 139 passing yards and two touchdown passes, while Jack Benson added 87 passing yards and one touchdown pass. The kickers also played a crucial role, with Jacob Bonilla converting 3 of 3 extra points and hitting a 42-yard field goal, while Matthew Fidone added 3 extra points, contributing to the Mounties' scoring efforts.

Defensively, the Mounties were equally impressive. Jeremiah Faustin led the charge with 6 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, while Kalim Mikhail and Derick Rabadan each added key tackles, helping to stifle East Los Angeles's offense. The defense applied pressure effectively, resulting in four sacks and numerous tackles for loss.

Overall, Mt. SAC dominated offensively, racking up 516 total yards compared to East Los Angeles's 214. The combination of a powerful ground game and efficient passing attack proved too much for East Los Angeles, who struggled to keep pace throughout the game.

Next up, the Mounties will take on Orange Coast College on Saturday, November 2, at 6:00 PM. The Pirates are 1-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Please make sure to join us on Saturday, November 9, at home as we celebrate Veterans Appreciation Night while the Mounties compete against Long Beach.
