Tim Pawley enters his third season as Mt. SAC’s Men's and Women's Head Tennis Coach.  Pawley currently owns and operates TJP Tennis Professionals which provides professional tennis instruction at local San Gabriel Valley Parks, clubs and at Pasadena City College where they provide tennis clinics and instruction for their campus and community. 

Pawley previously served as the Director of Tennis at La Salle High School (Pasadena, CA) from 2003-2016.  At La Salle, he developed a powerful tennis program that produced 30 CIF Southern Section individual qualifiers and 5 league championships.  In 2008, he led the Lancers to the CIF Southern Section Division V Finals, an overall record of 16-4 and a perfect league record of 10-0.  His 2008 team was successful both on and off the court, boasting the number one grade-point average of any team, in any sport in the CIF.  That season, Pawley was named the San Gabriel Valley Boys Tennis Coach of the Year.

A very successful athlete himself, Pawley was an outstanding tennis and collegiate baseball player. As a junior ranked Tennis player, Pawley highlighted his senior playing career by receiving a national singles title while competing in a National Tournament in Palm Springs, Ca. This was a part of aWorld Team Tennis(WTT) chapter out of Whittier Narrows Tennis Center in Calif. Baseball also played a big role in his career as He played  for the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans and then for Azusa Pacific University, where he earned two All-NAIA District III honors (1986, 1987), was named the 1987 NAIA District III Player of the Year and was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

Pawley is a member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), United States National Tennis Association (USNTA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and has served on the Wilson Tennis Pro Advisory Staff.

Pawley attended Glendale Community College, USC and Azusa Pacific University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Broadcasting.  Pawley is a longtime resident of the San Gabriel Valley and resides in Arcadia (CA).
