Veteran Mountie Coach Leroy Johnson will handle the Mountie secondary (defensive backs) along with his duties as the Co-Defensive Coordinator.  Johnson began his football coaching career at the high school level, coaching at Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Bonita High School.  While at Bonita, he helped lead the Bearcats to the 1999 CIF Championship, before joining the Mountie Football Staff in 2000 to 2002. Johnson would return in 2006 and has been a big part of the program's success.

Johnson prepped at Pomona High School and attended Mt. SAC where he played two seasons (88-89) at defensive back, earning first-team all-conference honors during both seasons.

Johnson received his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from the University of La Verne.  He was the  President of Against All Odds, a scholastic tutoring company based in Long Beach.  He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma  Fraternity Inc. Where the Motto is Culture for Service for Humanity. Johnson resides in Long Beach with his beautiful wife Lavette and their two lovely daughters Shavonn and Brandee Able.
