Mt. SAC Head Baseball Coach John Knott will enter his sixth season (2022) with an overall Mt. SAC Coaching Record of 91-64 (.587 winning %) and will look to continue his teams momentum, after two seasons affected by the CoVID-19 pandemic.  Under Knott, the Mounties have continually improved, capturing "Back to Back" South Coast Conference (SCC) Championships in 2018 and 2019.  He led the team to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship Tournament in 2018 and the CCCAA So Cal Sectionals in 2019.  The 2020 season looked to be another promising season for his Mounties, before the teams season ended half way through the season with a 13-8 record, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In less than four years, he has sent over 40 players to the 4-year level and was twice (2018, 2019) named SCC North Division Baseball Coach of the Year.  He has also guided standouts Michael Sandoval ('19 SCC MVP), Zach Bromstead ('18 ABCA Rawlings All-American), Elijah Greene ('18 SCC MVP / ABCA Rawlings All-American) and Jacob Kampen ('18 SCC Most Valuable Pitcher).
