Art Guevara, a proud Mt. SAC alumnus and former Mountie golfer, is now in his fourth season as Head Coach of the Mt. San Antonio College Men’s and Women’s Golf programs. Bringing over two decades of professional experience and deep ties to the program, Guevara has been a part of the Mt. SAC golf family since 2016, initially serving as an assistant coach for both teams before stepping into the head coaching role.
Under his leadership, the Mt. SAC Women’s Golf Team has reached new heights. In 2024, the team captured the 3C2A State Championship—its first title since 2005. Guevara guided the Mounties through a dominant postseason, winning the Orange Empire Conference Championship and the Southern California Regional title by an impressive 53 strokes. Five of his golfers earned All-OEC honors, reflecting the depth and consistency of the team. In 2023, he led the women’s team to an Orange Empire Conference title and a runner-up finish at the state championship, earning him the OEC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year award.
Guevara's golf roots trace back to his time playing for Mt. SAC in 1990 under legendary coach Ray Adermann. He launched his professional career in 1991 at Industry Hills Golf Club (now Pacific Palms Conference Resort), starting as a phone clerk and rising to Head PGA Professional before the age of 30. He later held key roles at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda and Green River Golf Club in Corona, gaining valuable leadership and operations experience.
A PGA member for 25 years, Guevara currently serves as Head Professional and Tournament Director at El Prado Golf Courses in Chino, California. There, he oversees the Golfer Development Program, which includes instructional programs for adults and youth, and serves as a mentor to aspiring PGA professionals.
Guevara lives in Covina with his wife, Meryl, and their two children, Faith and Kiko.
