Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. San Antonio College Athletics Program has once again proven its dominance, capturing the 2024–2025 Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics for a record 14th time, including an unprecedented 12th consecutive win. Presented by the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), the Ron Case Cup honors the top community college athletics program across California, Oregon, and Washington.

Since the Cup’s inception in the 2003–2004 season, Mt. SAC has won 14 of the 20 titles, solidifying its legacy as a powerhouse in two-year college athletics.

In addition to their regional dominance, Mt. SAC earned national recognition by winning the prestigious Learfield Directors’ Cup, awarded to the top overall two-year college athletics program in the country. This marks just the second time in program history Mt. SAC has received the honor, with the previous win coming after the 2014–2015 season.

This year, the Mounties set a new record high of 193 points in the Ron Case Cup, surpassing their previous record of 187.5 set in 2015. Impressively, Mt. SAC now holds eight of the top ten highest scores ever recorded, including each of the top seven.

The scoring is based on finishes in state championship events, with points calculated from the top five men’s and top five women’s team performances. This year’s total was fueled by state championships in women’s golf, basketball, and swim & dive, as well as men’s wrestling and baseball—each contributing 20 points. Runner-up finishes in men’s cross country, football, and women’s wrestling added 19 points apiece, while third-place finishes in women’s cross country and men’s swim & dive contributed 18 points each.

Additional teams made valuable contributions beyond the 193-point total used for the Ron Case Cup scoring. Noteworthy performances came from men’s track and field (18), women’s track and field (17), women’s tennis (14.5), women’s beach volleyball (11.5), men’s golf (10.5), women’s volleyball (8.5), and men’s basketball (8.5), bringing Mt. SAC’s total points across all sports to an impressive 281.5.

In the Ron Case Cup final standings, San Diego Mesa placed second with 159 points, followed closely by American River (158.5), Riverside City (156.5), and Orange Coast College (156). Nationally, in the Learfield Directors’ Cup rankings, Gloucester College (NJ) was second with 180.5 points, followed by Iowa Western with179.5, Joliet Junior College (IL) with165, and Iowa Central rounding out the top five with 164.5.

This historic season is a testament to the unwavering dedication, talent, and teamwork of Mt. SAC’s student-athletes, coaches, and support staff. Their continued success places Mt. SAC at the forefront of community college athletics – in the state of California, in the western region and across the nation. Congratulations to the entire Mt. SAC Athletics family on this incredible achievement.
