Mt. SAC Athletics 2022 Hall of Fame Banquet

(Walnut, CA) The 2022 Mt. SAC Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet will induct six outstanding individuals on Saturday, February 26th and inaugurate the new Mt. SAC Heritage Hall, located on the Mt. SAC Campus, next to Hilmer Lodge Stadium.  Social hour/ticket pick up begins at 5:00 pm and the Dinner/Ceremony begins at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $60 per individual and $450 for a table for eight guests.  

This year’s inductees include:

  • Alfonso Boone (Athlete) – All-American Football Defensive End. Drafted into the NFL, directly out of Mt. SAC!  Played with the Chicago Bears,  Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.

  • Corey Hamabata (Athlete) – 2005 California State Champion at 133 lbs. and two-time state finalist.  A Scholar-Athlete, He went on to wrestle at Cornell University.

  • Ron Larrieu (Athlete-Posthumous) 1957 State Champion in the 2-mile run.  Went on to represent the United States at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics where he was a 10,000-meter finalist.  He was also a two-time US Cross Country Champion and held the American 3-mile record.

  • Keith Lockhart (Athlete) – Former Mountie who played 10 years in Major League Baseball after breaking into the Majors Leagues at 30 years of age.  Was Mt. SAC’s MVP in 1984 and went on to play at Oral Roberts University.

  • Lenore Moreno (Athlete) – A two-time State Track & Field Champion and college record holder in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters.  2-time NCAA DII National Champion and Olympic Trials Qualifier in the Marathon.
  • Gerald Williams (Athlete) 1999 State Champion in the Long Jump, 4X100M Relay, 100M.  Holds college record in the 100m at 10.09.  Greatest single athlete performance at the 1996 CIF State Track and  Field Championships when he placed 3rd as a team by himself.
