(Louisville, KY) The Mt. SAC Softball Field was named the innaugural winner of the 2018 Turface Athletics/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) California Junior College Field of the Year. The award honors the top softball fields in the country and is selected upon by the NFCA Awards Committee based upon flawless grounds maintenance and exceptional playing surfaces.
This past year, the Mt. SAC Softball Field hosted numerous regular season and post season competitions, including the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships. "We are honored to play on such an incredible field," replied Mt. SAC and 2018 CCCAA State Champion Head Coach Ruby Rojas. "The hard work of the grounds staff and the ability to play on a perfect field of this caliber, raises the level of our play."
The award will be presented at the 2018 NFCA National Convention Softball Summit to be held on December 7th, in Chicago (IL).
Congratulations and thanks to the incredible Mt. SAC Softball Grounds crew that prepared the award winning field throughout the year.
