Mt. SAC Women’s Cross Country Team Runs Away with the SoCal Championship Title

San Diego, Calif. – As they have been doing all season long, the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team continues to impress, earning a first-place finish at the 2025 3C2A SoCal Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 7, at the Naval Training Center Park.

The 5K race featured 147 runners representing 20 Southern California community colleges. The Mounties claimed the team title with a score of 61 points, followed by Orange Coast (96), San Diego Mesa (108), Moorpark (178), and East Los Angeles College (218) rounding out the top five.

Mt. SAC recorded an impressive team time of 1:35:43 with a 42-second spread among their top five runners—showcasing both depth and consistency.

Leading the charge for the Mounties was Casey McConn, finishing 8th overall in 18:48.31 to earn 7 team points. Teammates Sophia Ebiner (18:55.58) and Jocelyn Izarraraz-Rodriguez (18:57.80) crossed the line back-to-back in 11th and 12th place, contributing 10 and 11 points, respectively.

Aariana Amezcua and Jasmine Brandyberry sealed the victory with strong finishes in 18th (19:30.84) and 19th (19:30.87), adding 15 and 16 points to the team's total.

NEXT UP:

It all comes down to this — the 3C2A Cross Country State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno on Saturday, November 22.

As the No. 1 ranked team in the state, the Mounties are ready to bring the heat one last time this season. Let's go, ladies — finish strong!
