Fast, Focused, First: Mt. SAC Women Take Home the Crown at Manny Bautista Invite

San Diego, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team continued their strong season with a commanding first-place finish at the Manny Bautista Cross Country Invitational, topping a field of 21 teams with 181 runners participating in the 5K race.

The Mounties posted a team score of 49 points with an overall time of 1:37:30 and an impressive average of 19:30 per runner. Orange Coast College finished second with 102 points, followed by San Diego Mesa (115), Point Loma (168), and Canyons (197) to round out the top five.

Mt. SAC placed all five scoring runners inside the top 30, led by standout sophomore and team captain Sophia Ebiner, who placed 5th overall with a time of 19:01.3, scoring 4 points for the team. Casey McConn followed in 8th place (6th scorer) with a time of 19:11.0, while Kaitlyn Reyes took 9th (7th scorer) in 19:16.5. Jasmine Brandyberry added a solid finish in 14th place (12th scorer) at 19:44.5, and Ariana Amezcua sealed the scoring five in 28th place (20th scorer) with a time of 20:17.0.

Rounding out the strong team effort were Isabella Kebenei (35th overall / 24th scorer, 20:28.3) and Tesoro De La Cerra-Martinez (42nd / 31st scorer, 20:41.4), both contributing to Mt. SAC's depth and dominance across the field.

The Mounties return home to host the prestigious Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 17, before heading into the South Coast Conference Championships later this month.
