Oxnard, Calif. – In a standout team performance at the Oxnard Invitational on Friday, September 5, the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team captured first place with just 16 points in the 5K race. Cerritos finished second with 45 points, followed by host Oxnard in third with 78.

Led by a tight and unified front pack, five Mounties placed in the top 10, and all seven scoring runners finished in the top 13—showcasing both depth and discipline.

Jessica Vigil crossed the line in third place with a time of 19:20.0, just ahead of a remarkable trio of Mounties—Sophia Ebiner, Casey McConn, and Kaitlyn Reyes—who all clocked an identical time of 19:20.1 to take fourth, fifth, and sixth. Their synchronized finish perfectly demonstrated the essence of cross country: working together and pushing as a unit.

Jocelyn Izarraraz-Rodriguez added a strong ninth-place finish at 20:00.0 to complete the team's top five scoring positions. Jasmine Brandyberry (11th, 20:10.6) and Rebekah Cueva (13th, 20:16.4) also contributed to Mt. SAC's dominant performance, ensuring that all seven scoring runners were among the top 13 overall.

The Mounties' impressive pack running and team-first mentality were key to their low score and commanding win.
