
(Fullerton, CA) Mt. SAC opened its season on Saturday at the Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Fullerton. In a field of 12 teams (most of which were four-year colleges), the Mounties finished in 8th place with a team score of 227 points.
In the open competition, Aariana Amezcua placed 35th on the five-kilometer course with a time of 19:03.8 for Mt. SAC, while teammate Natalyn Membreño finished 49th with a time of 19:40.3.
Shandy Moore (19:45.2), Maya Garcia (17.47.1), Tigist Bergman (20.15.0), Ava Cornell (20.40.2) and Brenna Butler (21:18.6) rounded out the scoring members in the race for the Mounties.
The Mt. SAC will compete in the Oxnard Invite at Oxnard College on Friday, Sept. 8, at 9 a.m.
