Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country captures second consecutive state title

(Fresno, CA) For the second season in a row and third in the last five, Mt. San Antonio College captured the California Community College Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Woodward Park in Fresno. The Mounties tallied 83 team points on the day as San Diego Mesa College (2nd place) and Glendale College (3rd) posted 138 and 159 points, respectively.

In a field of 155 runners on a 3.2-mile course, four Mounties turned in top-30 times: Hannah Brown (18:06.8, 3rd place), Claudia Vera (18:50.3, 10th), Karla Galvan (19:07.4, 17th), and Ingrid Tamayo (19:32.9, 30th).

Mt. SAC's other placings included Shandy Moore (19:53.0, 40th), Brenna Butler (20:05.0, 47th), and Cassandra Apahidean (20:10.8, 49th).
