Encinas Leads Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country to Fourth-Place Finish at Brubaker Invitational

Brubaker Invitational Top 10 Women Finishers

(Irvine, CA) With 106 team points, the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team placed fourth at the Brubaker Invitational Meet at Irvine Regional Park on Friday. Hartnell College took first place with 28 points, while Riverside (71 points) and Saddleback (72) finished in second and third place, respectively.

Sadie Encinas was the top performer for the Mounties, finishing seventh with a time of 19:57.5 on the five-kilometer course. Teammates Yesenia Flores (12th place, 20:26.5), Daniela De La Torre Garcia (30th, 21:24.8), and Evelyn Peralta (33rd, 21:29.0) rounded out the field of Mt. SAC runners who finished in the top 40 in a field of 107.

Prior to Friday's meet, the Mounties were ranked sixth in the 5CTCA state poll and tied for fifth with Los Angeles Harbor in the Southern California Regional rankings.

Mt. SAC will host and compete in the Mt. SAC Invitational on Friday, Oct. 18, at 9 a.m.
