Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Wrestling Team kicked off both their first home competition and first conference dual of the season in strong fashion, rolling past Palomar College 38–13. Competing in front of the home crowd for the first time this year, the Mounties wasted no time proving they were ready to take down the Comets.

Mt. SAC set the tone early in the lower weight classes and never really let go of the momentum.

At 103 pounds, Sienna Montanez got the Mounties started the right way, pinning Marie Gil and putting the first points on the board. Caylee Reyes followed at 110 pounds with another pin over Arissa Morgan, giving Mt. SAC back-to-back falls and an early advantage.

Palomar picked up its first win at 117 pounds, where Charis Tolentino earned a pin over Mt. SAC's Anika Del Castillo. But the Mounties were quick to flip the momentum right back in their favor.

At 124 pounds, Mackenzie Muniz dominated her matchup, earning a technical fall victory over Xiomara Galleho. Janina Morales kept the pressure on at 131 pounds, pinning Preciosa Moreno to extend the Mounties' lead.

At 138 pounds, Zitlali Sarmiento picked up a win by forfeit, adding to Mt. SAC's growing advantage.

The Mounties continued to battle at 145 pounds, where Manaia Tofilau secured a hard-fought decision victory over Kyli Stanley to keep the points rolling for Mt. SAC.

Palomar earned a win at 160 pounds, where Chloe Overgagg was awarded the match by injury default over Nyomi Mesa, but Mt. SAC quickly answered in the next bout.

At 180 pounds, Gen Deleon worked her way to a decision victory over Michelle Klein, keeping the Mounties firmly in control of the dual.

Mt. SAC closed things out, collecting wins by forfeit at 207 pounds with Lizeth Godina and at 235 pounds with Olivia Marker, officially locking up the 38–13 victory.

With strong performances across multiple weight classes, the Mounties continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
