Mt. SAC Women's Wrestling takes second at State Championships

(Norwalk, CA) With 110.5 points, Mt. San Antonio College took second at the first-ever California Community College Athletic Association Women's Wrestling Championships at Cerritos College on Saturday, April 22. Host Cerritos came in first with 129 points and East Los Angeles College took third with 77 points.

First-place finishes for the Mounties included Ruby Rivas (102-109 lbs.), Megan Irwin (128 lbs.), and Sofia Vergara (136 lbs.). Hailey Teodoro (116 lbs.) placed second in her weight class, while teammate Elizabeth Carrillo took third in hers.

The team's coaches were proud of their athletes' performances and praised their dedication and hard work in preparation for the championship. The team's successful finish at the championship is a testament to their commitment and discipline, both on and off the mat.
