Mountie Women's Wrestling finishes tied for second at ELAC Tournament

(Monterey Park, CA) Behind three first-place and two second-place individual finishes, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Wrestling team tallied 105 points to tie for second with East Los Angeles College at the Leader of the Pack Tournament at ELAC on Saturday, March 18. Cerritos College took first place with 191 points in the 10-team field.

"Our team continues to showcase its hard work," said David Rivera, the Mounties' head coach. "We had great performances at this tournament."

First-place finishes for Mt. SAC included Ruby Rivas (109 lbs.), Megan Irwin (128 lbs.), and Sofia Vergara (136 lbs.). Bridget Oregel (136 lbs.) and Hailey Cortez (148 lbs.) accounted for the Mounties' second-place finishes.

Next up, Mt. SAC will head north to compete in the Sacramento City College Tournament on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
