Mt. SAC Women’s Water Polo team won two games at the Santa Monica Mini Tourney: Reep scores eight goals

(Santa Monica, CA) With the regular season coming to a close, the Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo team won two games at the Eduard "Tuna" Gorodetsky Mini Tournament at Santa Monica College on Friday (October 21).

The Mounties scored 29 goals in the two games, defeating San Diego Mesa, 14-8, and host Santa Monica, 15-6. With the wins, the Mounties improved to 13-7 on the season.

Only one South Coast Conference game remains, as the Mounties travel to Long Beach City College on Wednesday (Oct. 26).

The conference tournament takes place at LBCC beginning November 3.

Leading the way at the Santa Monica Mini was freshman driver Nature Reep with eight goals in the two games.

Sophomore Xen Allen added seven goals.

Mt. SAC 14, SD Mesa 8

Reep and Allen each had four goals to lead Mt. SAC to the win. Freshman driver Jayde Gutierrez added three goals.

The Mounties scored eight of their 14 goals in the first half, led by Allen with three of her four goals in the first period.

Mt. SAC 15, Santa Monica 6

Reep and Allen again led the Mounties with four and three goals, respectively, while Alyssa Fox and Briana Castillo had two goals each.

The Mounties took a 9-1 lead after the first half, with Allen and Reep scoring two each.
