(Walnut, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Women's Water Polo team kicked off its 2022 campaign with a 12-3 South Coast Conference win over visiting Chaffey College (2-3, 0-1) on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

The Mounties (1-0, 1-0) scored early and often, taking a 3-0 lead early in the game and a 7-1 lead at the half, then tacked on five more in the second half to cruise to victory.

Alexis Ramirez and Nature Reep led Mt. SAC in scoring with four goals each, while teammates Jayde Gutierrez, Alyssa Fox, Xen Allen, and Cori Burdett scored one each. Burdett led the team in assists with four and Ariana Moran had three of her own.

Goalkeeper Jahanna Palmer played all four quarters for the Mounties, making 13 saves.

Mt. SAC will next face San Joaquin Delta College (0-0) in the West Valley College Invitational in Saratoga, CA, on Friday, Sept. 16, at 9:10 a.m.
