The Mounties started the four-game tourney with a 9-5 loss to No. 10- ranked Sierra College on Friday. The setback was their first in a month.

The Mounties then reeled off the next three wins to move their record to 17-4 overall.

The three victories came against San Diego Mesa (11-9), Cerritos (10-8) and No. 9 Fullerton (14-9).

After Mesa took its only lead in the game after the first period, 3-2, Mt. SAC exploded for six goals in the second period for the halftime 8–3 lead.
