(PASADENA) The Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo team came away empty in the South Coast Conference Tournament championship game, losing, 14-5, to top-seeded Long Beach City College Saturday afternoon at Pasadena City College.

The conference tournament championship game was the fourth consecutive appearance for the Mounties.

They won the SCC tournament title in 2013 over LBCC.

Mt. SAC (16-11, 8-3) will move on to the Southern California Regional Championships this weekend, receiving the No. 9 seed, and will play No. 8 seed Citrus College (23-10) on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

Citrus finished tied for third place in the Western State Conference.

The Mounties faced the Owls two weeks ago and lost a close, 6-4 game.

"We saw them (Citrus) at the Long Beach Tournament," Mt. SAC coach Chris Jackson said. "They beat us but it is a good opportunity for us.

"Now it's win or go home time."

The So Cal's will be held at Golden West College in Huntington Beach Thursday through Saturday.

In the semifinal win over Cerritos College, sophomore Hannah Krolik led the Mounties.

"Hannah stepped up big in (that) game, scoring five goals and it was her birthday," Jackson said.

"That performance put us in the championship game again."

In the title game against LBCC, the Mounties played a close first period contest and trailed only, 4-3, heading into the second period.

Krolik had two goals and sophomore Kayla De Herrera scored in that first period.

However, it was all Vikings after that as they scored ten consecutive goals over the next two periods to lead, 14-3, before De Herrera scored twice in the final period.
