San Luis Obispo, Calif. – Freshman Hailey Lutz put together a strong all-around performance to represent the Mt. SAC Women's Track & Field Team at the SoCal Regional Multi Championships, held March 31–April 1 at Cuesta College. Competing in the grueling seven-event heptathlon, Lutz showcased her versatility and determination against a competitive field.

She finished seventh overall out of 16 athletes with a total score of 3,713, adding two points to Mt. SAC's regional team score. Across the two-day competition, Lutz proved her ability to compete across multiple disciplines, delivering consistent performances from start to finish.

Her highlight moment came in the long jump, where she leapt to a first-place finish with a mark of 16' 11.25". She also made a strong impact on the track, placing third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.95, while adding fifth-place finishes in both the high jump (4' 9.5") and the 200 meters (27.34).

With a solid showing in one of track and field's most demanding events, Lutz continues to build momentum as the season progresses.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties now shift their focus to the UC San Diego Triton Invite on April 3-4, looking to carry that momentum into another strong weekend of competition. Regional championship action will resume at the SoCal Championship Trials on May 2 at Bakersfield College.
