(Mission Viejo, CA) It's safe to say that what the Mt. SAC Men's and Women's Track and Field teams accomplished on May 17 and 18 at Saddleback College in the 3C2A State Championships could take years to happen again.

For the second time in 3C2A Track and Field history, the Mounties Men's and Women's teams have three-peated state titles together.

No team has come close to accomplishing that feat since the women began competing in the state championships in 1977.

The championships are the 14th for both programs at Mt. SAC.

On the women's side, the Mounties finished with 102 points, while Cerritos had 73 for second place, and Modesto placed third with 61.

The Mounties had two first-place winners: Summer Stevenson in the Triple Jump and the 4 x 400 Relay team (Cyvanna Bowen, Catalina Teran, Astrid Teran, Leila Champion).

Stevenson, who was the runner-up in the 2023 championships, finished with a jump of 41-3 ¼ and ranks No. 7 on the all-time state meet top 10 list. Stevenson is also the state season leader at 41-11 1/2.

In the Pole Vault, sophomore Bailie Horton placed third with a vault of 12'-1/2", followed by teammates Astrid Teran, Sophia Perez, and Shannon Gaitan in fourth through sixth place.
