Mountie Women's Track and Field performs well at Ron Kamaka Open

(Walnut, CA) At the Ron Kamaka Invitational held at Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25, competitors from the Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field team took first in eight events, second in eight, and third in two.

A rundown of first-place finishes from Mountie athletes includes Aaliyah Smith (discus), Ahnyx Bush (long jump), 4x400 relay (Emily de la Torre, Fernanda Degollado, Trista Michael, Natalyn Membreno), Hannah Brown (3000 meters), Michael (1500 meters), Degollado (800 meters), Amari Weatherford (400 meters), and Tatiana Sprock (100 meters).

Second-place finishes for Mt. SAC included Charisma Collins (100 meters), de la Torre (400 meters), Brown (1500 meters), Claudia Vera (3000 meters), McKenna Venegas (long jump), and Sahira Lepes Sanchez (shot put, discus, hammer).

Shandy Moore (1500 meters, 3000 meters) accounted for the Mounties' third-place postings.
