Women's Track and Field athletes turn in solid performances at Cerritos Open

(Norwalk, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Women's Track and Field Team turned in three first-place, six second-place, and one third-place performances in a 10-team field at the Cerritos College Open on Saturday, Feb. 19.

In the pole vault, Mountie athletes occupied the top three positions, which included a tie for second between Sophia Perez and Faythe Berge at 3.1 meters. Kaitlyn Swenson took first in the event, clearing 3.55 meters.

Also, in the 200-meter run, Mt. SAC's Amari Weatherford (25.31) and Shyanne Carrigan (25.72) finished first and second, respectively.

The Mounties will next compete in the Invitational Hammer and Javelin Meet at Mt. SAC on Friday, Feb. 25, and in the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 26.
