Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Performs Well at Cerritos and Cal State LA. Meets

(Norwalk, CA, and Los Angeles, CA) At the Cerritos Open Heptathlon/Decathlon on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27-28, a pair of athletes represented the Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team well. Elizabeth Chidester tallied 3,979 points to place second in the heptathlon, and Crystal Vongphrasouk finished seventh with 2,771 points.

On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-29, at the Cal State L.A. Invite, Alia Scott took first in the 400-meter run, turning in a time of 56.67.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Scott, Faith Sutton, Janiah Brown, and Alicia Victoria captured first place in 3:55.94.

Second-place finishes included Sutton in the 200-meter run (25.87) and Sadie Encinas in the 3,000-meter run (11:06.37).

Pole vaulter Carly Ewing (2.81 meters), 3,000-meter runner Yesenia Flores (11:09.89), and 200-meter runner Victoria (25.88) each placed third in their respective events.

The Mounties will participate in the Cal State Long Beach Opener on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7.
