(Redlands, CA) Three individual and one relay first-place finish highlighted the day for the Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team at the annual Redlands Invitational on Friday.
With the largest number of competitors in the history of the event, Mt. SAC was well represented with 41 athletes competing and finishing ahead of numerous college, university teams as well as unattached athletes.
Highlighting the day was a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200-Meter Dash, with freshman Tatyana Pooler (24.04) besting the field of 58 runners. Completing the sweep for the Mounties was Chelsey Woodson (25.48) and Lonsha Bradford (25.48) in second and third respectively.
Bradford came back with a first-place finish in the 400-Meters (56.55) and Brittany Mitchell (59.11) was third.
The third individual winner for the Mounties was sophomore Teuila Gardner (2:19.01) in the 800 M, just nosing out a host Redlands runner.
Mt. SAC's Teresa Castillo finished fourth with a time of 2:21.11 also in the 800. The Mounties lined up nine runners in the 800 M.
In the 400 M Hurdles, Jhaleh Day (1:09.04) and Terra Valadez (1:10.02) finished third and sixth respectively.
In the 4 x 100M Relay, the Mounties team composed of Bradford, Pooler, Alyssa Curry and Kyra White (47.09) finished in first ahead of eight college and university teams.
Gardner and Castillo were members of the CCCAA 2017 State Champion Cross Country team for the Mounties last fall.
The top finisher in the field events was sophomore Nadya Wisham in the Triple Jump with a leap of 10.74 M for fourth place and Caira Patterson was fifth in the Hammer Throw with a 43.86 throw.
In the Poe Vault, the Mounties had the most entrants with five as freshman Amy Campos led the contingent with a vault of 3.30 Meters for seventh.

- Pole Vault – 10th – Brianna Aguirre (3.15 M), 12th – Julianne Perez (3.00 M)
- Long Jump – 7th – Shian Long (5.24M)
- Triple Jump – 10th – Aleah McCants (10.25 M)
- Shot Put – 17th – Tahlia Valentin (9.64 M), 19th – Mikael Wilson (9.34)
- Discus – 11th – Caira Patterson (33.72 M)
