Mounties Have An Impressive Showing At Cal State Los Angeles Invitational

(Los Angeles, CAWith the Track and Field Teams nearly at full strength, the Mounties produced a number of strong performances at the 2015 Cal State Los Angeles Track and Field Invitational against large fields from a number of 4-year universities and 2-year collegesSophia Amodia was the Mounties lone female individual event winner, winning the women's 400M Hurdles with a CCCAA State leading time of 1:04.78.  On the men's side, Tyler Potts captured the individual overall title in the men's 3000M run, over a 55 man field, running 8:51.12.  Amodia and Potts each had third place finishes in their other event of the day, with Amodia running 14.88 in the 100M Hurdles (CCCAA State Leading Mark) and Potts running 4:00.10 in the 1,500M (field of 110 runners).

Former Mounties Kyree King and Marquise Cherry both captured their respective individual events.  King had the fastest time in the 125 man field in the 200M at 21.03 (wind 1.6 MS), while Cherry outleaped the field in the long jump with a mark of 23'11"1/2.

Another outstanding performance, was produced by men's pole vaulter, Nicolas Weisheit, who boomed over 15'03"1/2, to produce a State Auto Qualifying Mark and take 7th overall in a very tough field.
